Jolly Giant Home Daycare
Policies
Tuition
Tuition is based on a yearly rate and broken down into weekly payments
Payment
Payments are due each Friday in advance for the following week. Payments not received by the close of business
on Friday will incur a late charge for each day payment is not received
Overtime/Late Pickup Fees
Overtime fees will be charged if a child is left after closing hours, due at the time the child is picked up.
Absences/Days Off
No refunds, allowances or make up days are permitted for absence due to illness,
etc, or days off for other reasons
Vacations
Vacations may be taken for one full week or two full weeks at a time. No more than two weeks per year
are allowed at no charge. Any other vacation time must be charged at the regular rate in order to ensure
that your space remains available. Payment for the return week after your vacation must be made in advance
of your vacation. Please allow us at least two weeks notice when planning your vacation.
Maternity Leave
If you are on maternity leave and are planning to enroll your newborn, your previously
enrolled child(ren) must be present and/or have their fees paid at the regular
rate during all but 1 week of your maternity leave. This will ensure that space
remains available for your enrollment.
Closings
A calendar of events and closings is provided each year. Full payment is expected each week regardless
of holiday closings. Any non-charged closings (vacations etc) will be indicated as such on your calendar.
If management deems necessary for the safety and/or health of children, care givers or clients, to close for
reasons beyond our control such as weather, power outages, etc you will be contacted as early as possible.
Refunds are not offered for emergency closings.
Child Illnesses
Clients are asked not to bring a child with any contagious or infectious disease,
or one so sick as to require the constant attention of a caregiver. Any child
with a temperature of 100 degrees F cannot be accepted. If a child begins fever
while in care, he or she must be picked up within 1 hour. Children with symptoms
of vomiting, diarrhea, etc must also be picked up within the hour.
Medication
All medication and ointments, including sun screens and tanning lotions, whether prescribed or
"over the counter" must be accompanied by a permission form signed by the parent or legal guardian.
Food Provision
Designated meals and snacks are provided daily. Any special diets including formula, baby food,
or other due to allergy etc are to be provided by the client.
Items from Home
Full change of clothing, including under garments, pillow and and blanket. Please label any items from home with
a permanent marker.
Outdoor play
Fresh air and exercise are essential to the health of young children. Children will be scheduled to go outside
daily, weather permitting. Generally if a child is well enough to attend daycare, he/she is well enough to participate
in outdoor play
Quiet time
It is necessary for all children to have some time to themselves in order to rest from the days activities.
Each day, time for a nap or quiet rest is provided. Your child may bring a favorite blanket or stuffed toy if it helps him/her
feel more comfortable.
Field Trips
Field trips are exciting learning experiences. Any field trips will be scheduled in advance and a signed permission
form for each trip will be required.
Discipline
We approach discipline with a positive attitude. Discipline is a means of helping your child learn
acceptable behavior and self-control appropriate to his/her emotional, social, intellectual,
and physical development. Distraction, discussion, and finally time out may be used.
Communication
Open and direct communication is expected and encouraged. If you or your child
have any special problems, concerns, or questions about care or policy, please
speak to the provider.
Evacuation plans
Emergency evacuation plans (Tornado, Fire, etc) will be posted. Emergency drills will be performed as needed or as required by law.
Medical Emergencies
Provider must have a signed permission form on file in order to secure emergency
medical attention for child in care. We must know where you are at all times when
your child is in care and be able to contact you or your designee by phone. If
you do not wish to grant such permission, you must provide a letter stating so
specifically and your reasons for refusal. Letter must be dated and signed by
the parent or legal guardian.
Deposits
All deposits paid in advance for the purpose of holding your opening are non-refundable unless by special arrangement in writing and signed by the
provider. Openings will not be held in the absence of a deposit. The amount of your deposit will be equal to one week of care and
will pay for your first week of care.
Contracts
Child care services are rendered by contract only. All contracts and other forms provided must
be completed and delivered to the provider before care can begin.
Termination
Two weeks written notice will be required for either party to terminate services. If proper notice is not received,
payment equal to two weeks care will be expected on your last day of care. Failure to give proper notice or payment
will be considered breach of contract and will be pursued by legal means.
Returned Checks
There will be a fee for returned checks; repeated offenses will result in cash only transactions.
Failure to pay fees or late charges may result in termination of enrollment.
